Conferenza OCEAN-UNIRE
Stato di attuazione della Convenzione di Istanbul e il ruolo del sistema educativo e universitario
The “Council of Europe Convention on Preventing and Combating Violence against Women and Domestic Violence” (known as the Istanbul Convention) was signed on 10 May 2011. Over the years, the Convention has become a subject of controversy but also a way to prevent gender-based violence and to change institutions and mentalities.
The conference aims to highlight the crucial role that the education and higher education system can play in the implementation of the Istanbul Convention, thanks to the establishment of transnational networks and the collaboration among researchers and experts, mainly coming from 46 member states of the Council of Europe.
The conference intends to develop a fruitful dialogue between different cultures and disciplines, to gather information on the application of the Istanbul Convention in each interested country, and to plan common strategies for building ad hoc academic networks.
